"These Stories are a testament to the nurturing environment and high quality education provided at Benton."
Dear Benton Grade School Community,
As we embrace these mid-winter days, it brings me immense pleasure to bring you the second issue of our new district-wide magazine, Connections47. With each page, we aim to encapsulate the vibrant spirit and collective achievements of our school community. This issue is no exception, brimming with stories that highlight the remarkable individuals who shape the Benton Grade School experience.
In this issue, we turn the spotlight on several of our extraordinary students, whose achievements and aspirations are as diverse as they are inspiring. Their stories are a testament to the nurturing environment and high-quality education provided at Benton. From academic triumphs to extracurricular excellence, these students embody the potential and promise inherent in every child.
We also celebrate the dedication of our educators, featuring both longtime teachers nearing retirement alongside newer additions to our team. Their unwavering commitment to our students' growth and success continues to be the cornerstone of our educational excellence. Alongside them, our education specialists are the often unsung heroes, working diligently to ensure every student’s unique needs are met, thereby fostering a truly inclusive learning environment.
A highlight of this issue about which I am particularly excited is our feature on a special alumnus who has reached the pinnacle of professional golf. His journey from the hallways of Benton toward an impact on the greens of the world’s top golf courses serves as an inspiring reminder of where passion, hard work, and a Benton education can lead.
Complementing our magazine, I'm thrilled to remind you of the Connections47 podcast. Available on Apple Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Spotify, and on our magazine website at Connections47.com, this podcast features engaging monthly discussions with various members of our school community. These conversations delve into the impactful stories and initiatives that make Benton Grade School a beacon of educational and community excellence.
It is my privilege to witness and share the myriad ways our students, staff, alumni, and broader community come together to create a tapestry of educational success and communal pride for all of us. Connections47 is not just a publication; it is a celebration of our collective journey and the bonds that unite and strengthen us.
I invite you to immerse yourself in the enriching stories of this issue and join us on the podcast as we continue to forge meaningful connections and chart a course towards a bright and promising future. Together, we’re doing important work. Let's cherish the journey.
Warm regards,
Dr. Steve Smith
