Superintendent's Letter - Spring '24

Dr. Steve Smith, Superintendent | Benton Grade School

“These narratives are a reminder of the extraordinary potential that lies within each member of our school family and the collective achievements that bring us closer together.”

Spring has arrived, bringing with it the promise of new beginnings and the latest edition of Connections47 Magazine. I couldn’t be more excited to share with you a collection of stories that embody the spirit, talent, and diversity of our incredible school community.

This issue is chock-full with tales of achievement, dedication, and innovative problem-solving from across Benton Grade School. In this issue, we’ve taken care to feature a broad cross-section of our community, highlighting the exceptional individuals who make our school such a special place.

Our staff and support team members are the backbone of Benton Grade School, providing unwavering support and inspiration to our students every day. In these pages, you’ll get to know several of these remarkable individuals in depth. Their stories are a testament to the passion and commitment that fuel our school’s success, and I am endlessly grateful for their contributions.

But the spotlight doesn’t stop there. We’re also thrilled to introduce you to a quad of young race car drivers from our student body, whose need for speed and competitive spirit have taken them from the classroom to the racetrack. Their journeys—each one different—are as thrilling as they are inspiring, showcasing the diverse talents and interests that our students possess.

Not to be outdone, we share the story of a fourth-grade student who has mastered the Rubik’s Cube, solving it in an astonishing 22 seconds! This remarkable feat is not just a display of quick thinking and dexterity but also a symbol of the problem-solving skills and perseverance we value so highly at Benton Grade School.

As you dive into this Spring issue of Connections47 Magazine, I hope you find joy and inspiration in the stories of our staff, students, and the vibrant community we’ve built together. These narratives are a reminder of the extraordinary potential that lies within each member of our school family and the collective achievements that bring us closer together.

Here’s to a season filled with growth, discovery, and connection. Enjoy the journey through the pages of our magazine, and may it fill you with Ranger Pride.
